6. Your Cholesterol Fears Are (Mostly) Outdated

This is the big one – the myth that locked eggs in the penalty box for an entire generation.
Yes, the yolk contains dietary cholesterol. But science has walked that fear back in a major way: for most healthy people, the cholesterol you eat has surprisingly little effect on the cholesterol in your blood.
One study that followed more than 500,000 adults found that moderate daily egg eating simply wasn’t linked to the heart disease it had been blamed for. Some research even points to a slightly lower cardiovascular risk in regular egg eaters.
(If you’re living with diabetes or an existing heart condition, it’s still worth a quick word with your doctor. But for most people, the yolk is firmly back on the table.)
