Ingredients
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
1 cup chicken broth
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
2 tablespoons chopped green onions
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Instructions
1. Lightly grease the slow cooker and place the chicken breasts in an even layer.
2. Sprinkle ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper over the chicken.
3. Pour chicken broth around the chicken, then place cubed cream cheese on top.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easy to shred.
5. Shred the chicken with two forks, then stir it back into the creamy sauce.
6. Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
7. Top with crumbled bacon, green onions, and parsley before serving.
Notes
Do not add the cheddar cheese at the beginning, because it can become oily or grainy during long cooking. Stir it in at the end so the sauce stays creamy and smooth.
