Description
Cozy Winter Lattes are a creamy, warm, coffeehouse-style drink made with strong coffee, steamed milk, vanilla, maple sweetness, and cozy winter spices. This easy recipe is perfect for a quick breakfast drink, holiday brunch, afternoon coffee break, or simple winter food idea when you want something comforting, homemade, and beautiful in the mug.
Ingredients
2 cups strong brewed coffee or 2 shots espresso
2 cups whole milk or oat milk
2 tablespoons maple syrup or brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup whipped cream
1 teaspoon cocoa powder or extra cinnamon, for topping
2 tablespoons caramel sauce, optional
Instructions
1. Brew the strong coffee or espresso and divide it between two mugs.
2. Add the milk, maple syrup or brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger to a small saucepan.
3. Warm over medium-low heat, whisking often, until the milk is steaming but not boiling.
4. Remove from heat and froth the milk with a handheld frother, immersion blender, or whisk.
5. Pour the spiced milk over the coffee and stir gently.
6. Top with whipped cream, cocoa powder or cinnamon, and caramel sauce if desired.
7. Serve immediately while hot and creamy.
Notes
Avoid boiling the milk. Gentle heat keeps the latte smooth and creamy, while boiling can make the milk taste scorched and reduce the soft foam.
