This easy recipe is great for holiday dessert trays, party food ideas, simple homemade candy, quick chocolate treats, and kid-friendly no-bake dessert ideas when you want something fun without using the oven.
Ingredients
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
4 cups chow mein noodles
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 cup chopped peanuts optional
2 tablespoons sprinkles optional
Instructions
1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
2. Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, and peanut butter to a microwave-safe bowl.
3. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth and fully melted.
4. Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
5. Add the chow mein noodles and gently fold until every piece is coated in chocolate.
6. Fold in chopped peanuts if using.
7. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping each one into a small mound.
8. Add sprinkles right away if using.
9. Let the haystacks set at room temperature or chill them in the refrigerator until firm.
10. Serve once fully set, or store in an airtight container.
Notes
Do not overheat the chocolate. Melt it slowly in short intervals and stir often so it stays smooth instead of turning thick or grainy.
