Ingredients

0.5 lb beef steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into 1-inch cubes

1 tablespoon cornstarch

0.25 teaspoon salt

0.25 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons oil (for searing)

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

0.25 teaspoon red chili flakes

1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

1 stalk green onion, sliced for garnish


Instructions

1. Cut steak into 1-inch cubes and pat dry with paper towels.

2. In a bowl, toss steak cubes with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak in batches and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.

4. Lower heat to medium, add remaining 1 tablespoon oil if needed, and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds.

5. Add soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and chili flakes. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

6. Return steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat. Simmer 1 more minute to fully glaze the beef.

7. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the skillet—sear in batches to keep the steak crispy.

Use fresh garlic, not powdered, for the best flavor.

Adjust chili flakes to control the spice level—skip them for a kid-friendly version.
