Description

Start your day sweet with this cozy, nutty favorite. Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread is a moist, buttery loaf packed with toasted pecans and old-fashioned Southern flavor. This easy recipe is perfect for quick breakfast, brunch tables, or sweet snack time. Whether you enjoy it with coffee or dress it up with a glaze, this loaf brings that homemade comfort you crave. Great for gifting, freezing, or prepping ahead—it’s one of those go-to breakfast ideas you’ll keep coming back to.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped pecans

¾ cup milk

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.

3. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until fully combined.

4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

5. Fold in the chopped pecans gently.

6. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool completely.

9. (Optional) Drizzle with glaze once fully cooled: mix ½ cup powdered sugar with 1–2 teaspoons milk.

Notes

For extra nutty flavor, toast the pecans before folding them into the batter.

Don’t overmix the batter—this keeps the bread soft and fluffy.

Wrap leftovers tightly for best freshness and freeze slices for easy future treats.
