Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 bay leaves
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until onions are translucent and fragrant.
3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, pepper, and bay leaves. Simmer for 15 minutes.
4. Add elbow macaroni to the pot and stir well. Cook for 12–15 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
5. Remove bay leaves. Adjust seasoning to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Let the goulash rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
For extra richness, stir in a handful of shredded cheddar cheese.
You can swap the beef broth for vegetable broth if needed.
