Ingredients

1 lb smoked kielbasa sausage, sliced into rounds

1 small head green cabbage, chopped

4 medium Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into chunks

1 medium yellow onion, diced

3 garlic cloves, minced

2 cups chicken broth

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

1. Slice kielbasa into thick rounds and chop all vegetables.

2. In a 6-quart slow cooker, layer cabbage on the bottom.

3. Add potatoes, onions, and garlic over the cabbage.

4. Top with sliced kielbasa.

5. Pour in chicken broth evenly across the top.

6. Dot the mixture with butter and season with salt and pepper.

7. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until potatoes are tender and cabbage is soft.

8. Gently stir before serving.

9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.

10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For more flavor, brown the kielbasa in a skillet before adding to the slow cooker.

You can substitute turkey or beef kielbasa for a lighter option.

For firmer cabbage, add it halfway through cooking.
