3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for apples)
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (for dough)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1/4 teaspoon salt
4–5 tablespoons ice water
1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional)
2 tablespoons caramel sauce (optional)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix 1 1/4 cups flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
2. Gradually add ice water, mixing just until dough forms. Shape into a disk, wrap, and chill for 30 minutes.
3. Thinly slice apples (peel optional) and toss with 3 tbsp sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and 1 tbsp flour.
4. Roll out dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to parchment-lined baking sheet.
