2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water (for slurry)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until sugar dissolves.
2. In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
3. Slowly pour the slurry into the saucepan while stirring constantly.
4. Let the sauce simmer for 2–3 minutes, stirring until it thickens and becomes glossy.
5. Remove from heat. Stir in sesame seeds and green onions if using.
6. Let the sauce cool slightly before serving or storing.
Notes
Use low-sodium soy sauce if you’re watching your salt intake.
Double the batch and store it in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Add chili flakes or sriracha to give it a spicy twist.
