Ingredients
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 stalks green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
1. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain and toss in cornstarch. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and water to make the sauce.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
4. Sear the beef in batches until crispy and browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
5. Pour the sauce into the same skillet and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
6. Return the beef to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
7. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
8. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
