Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 pound ground pork

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

1/3 cup milk

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 onion, grated

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 1/2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup diced potatoes (optional)

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, minced garlic, grated onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

2. Shape into 1.5-inch meatballs. Don’t overwork the meat to keep them tender.

3. In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium-high. Brown meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.

4. Reduce heat to medium, melt butter in the skillet. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes until golden.

5. Gradually whisk in beef broth. Add Worcestershire sauce and let gravy simmer until thickened.

6. Return meatballs to skillet. If using, add diced potatoes. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes until meatballs are cooked through.

7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.

Notes

Do not overmix the meatball mixture to ensure they stay tender and juicy.

If using lean meats like turkey or chicken, add extra moisture with a splash of milk or olive oil.

Gravy thickness can be adjusted by simmering longer or adding more broth as needed.
