Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound Italian sausage

12 lasagna noodles

2 cups ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 large eggs

3 cups tomato sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley


Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onion and garlic until translucent.

2. Add ground beef and sausage. Cook until browned, then drain excess fat.

3. Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 25 minutes.

4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth.

5. Boil lasagna noodles until al dente, drain, and lay flat.

6. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish.

7. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, Parmesan, and sauce. Repeat layers.

8. Finish with a layer of sauce and cheese on top.

9. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.

10. Remove foil and bake for another 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.

11. Let rest 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let the lasagna rest before cutting for clean slices.

Use freshly grated cheese for the best melt and flavor.

For added richness, stir in a spoonful of mascarpone to the ricotta mixture.
