Ingredients
8 hot dogs
8 hot dog buns
3 cups chili
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup diced red onion
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons sliced jalapeños
Instructions
1. Add the chili to the crockpot and heat on low until hot, stirring occasionally.
2. Cook the hot dogs using your preferred method until fully heated through.
3. Dice the red onion, slice the green onions, and prepare the jalapeños and sour cream.
4. Warm the hot dog buns just before serving.
5. Place each hot dog into a bun and spoon hot chili over the top.
6. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese so it starts to melt from the heat.
7. Finish with red onion, green onions, sour cream, and jalapeños.
8. Serve immediately while hot and loaded with toppings.
Notes
Do not use watery chili, or the buns can turn soggy too quickly; a thick hearty chili gives the best texture.
