Ingredients

12 lasagna noodles

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound Italian sausage

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes

2 tablespoons tomato paste

15 ounces ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned.

2. Add chopped onion and garlic, and cook until softened.

3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

4. Simmer the sauce for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, beaten egg, a handful of Parmesan, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

6. If using regular noodles, cook according to package instructions, then drain.

7. In a 9×13 baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and repeat layers.

8. Finish with a generous topping of mozzarella and Parmesan.

9. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.

10. Remove foil and bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.

11. Let lasagna rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.

12. Serve warm and enjoy!
