Description

Bold, saucy, and slightly sweet with a fiery finish, the Ground Beef Hot Honey Bowl is the dinner hero you didn’t know you needed. Think sizzling ground beef glazed in a sticky hot honey sauce, spooned over fluffy white rice with a luscious swipe of creamy mayo underneath. The final touch? A crunchy kick of scallions, sesame seeds, and sliced chili for that knockout bite. It’s quick, customizable, and a perfect easy dinner idea for busy nights or fun food ideas with bold flavor.

Ingredients

2 cups cooked short-grain white rice

1 pound lean ground beef

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup hot honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

4 tablespoons mayonnaise

4 tablespoons chopped green onions

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

1 red chili, thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the rice according to package directions and keep it warm.

2. In a small bowl, mix hot honey, soy sauce, cornstarch, and water to make the sauce.

3. In a skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart.

4. Add minced garlic to the beef and cook for another minute.

5. Pour in the hot honey sauce. Stir and simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened and glossy.

6. Divide rice between 4 bowls. Swirl 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each.

7. Spoon the glazed beef over the mayo-rice base.

8. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and optional chili slices. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use Japanese mayo like Kewpie for extra umami.

Add stir-fried veggies like bok choy or bell pepper for more crunch and color.

Make it mild by cutting the hot honey with regular honey for a gentler flavor.
