Ingredients
1 cup Nutella
12 wonton wrappers
1 large egg
1 tablespoon water
2 cups vegetable oil
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 tablespoons melted chocolate (optional)
1 tablespoon chopped parsley or mint (optional)
Instructions
1. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Drop about 1 teaspoon of Nutella in the center.
2. Mix egg with water to make an egg wash. Brush the edges of the wrapper.
3. Fold wrapper into a triangle or rectangle and press out any air pockets. Seal tightly and crimp edges with a fork.
4. Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pan to 350°F (175°C).
5. Fry 3-4 dumplings at a time for 1-2 minutes per side, flipping once, until golden brown.
6. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate to drain.
7. Dust with powdered sugar and optionally drizzle with melted chocolate and garnish with parsley or mint.
8. Serve warm and enjoy the gooey center!
Notes
Golden brown is the cue — don’t overfry or they’ll leak.
You can freeze uncooked dumplings and fry straight from frozen.
Serve with ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent treat.
