Description

Butterball Crockpot Turkey Breast is an easy dinner idea that turns a simple turkey breast into a tender, juicy, flavor-packed main dish with barely any hands-on work. This easy recipe is perfect for holiday dinners, cozy family meals, dinner ideas for smaller gatherings, and make-ahead food ideas when you want classic comfort without roasting a whole bird.

Ingredients

3 to 5 pound Butterball turkey breast

3 tablespoons butter, softened

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, sliced

1 cup chicken broth

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 teaspoon dried sage

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1. Lightly grease the crockpot insert and spread the sliced onion across the bottom.

2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, olive oil, garlic, paprika, thyme, rosemary, sage, salt, and black pepper until combined.

3. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels, then rub the seasoning mixture all over the top and sides.

4. Place the seasoned turkey breast on top of the onions in the crockpot.

5. Pour the chicken broth around the turkey, keeping the seasoned top mostly uncovered.

6. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 7 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part.

7. Remove the turkey breast carefully and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.

8. For gravy, pour the crockpot juices into a saucepan. Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl, stir it into the juices, and simmer until thickened.

9. Slice the turkey, spoon the gravy over the top if desired, and finish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Do not overcook the turkey breast, because even the crockpot can dry it out if it stays in too long past 165°F.
