Ingredients

2 pounds chicken wings

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup crushed pineapple (with juice)

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon chili flakes

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water (for slurry)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons chopped chives or green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Pat the chicken wings dry and season with salt and pepper. Lay them on a wire rack over a baking sheet.

2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the wings for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, crushed pineapple with juice, soy sauce, garlic, and chili flakes. Stir and bring to a simmer.

4. Mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Add it to the saucepan and stir until the glaze thickens. Simmer for about 5 minutes.

5. Transfer the baked wings to a large bowl and pour the hot glaze over them. Toss to coat evenly.

6. Garnish with chopped chives or green onions. Serve hot while the wings are sticky and fresh.

Notes

Make sure to pat the wings dry to achieve a crispier texture in the oven.

For more heat, double the chili flakes or add sriracha to the glaze.

The glaze can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days—just reheat before tossing with wings.
