Ingredients
340 g fresh cranberries
120 ml blood orange juice
120 ml water
150 g granulated sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1 tsp blood orange zest
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the cranberries, blood orange juice, water, and sugar. Add the cinnamon stick and stir everything together.
2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries begin to burst and the sauce thickens.
3. Turn off the heat, remove the cinnamon stick, and stir in the blood orange zest.
4. Let the sauce cool to room temperature—it will continue to thicken as it cools.
5. Transfer to a serving bowl or airtight container. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
Use fresh or frozen cranberries—both work equally well.
Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar depending on the tartness of your fruit.
This sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 10 days.
