Ingredients

1 can refrigerated biscuits

1 lb breakfast sausage

2 tbsp butter

3 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 1/2 cups whole milk

4 large eggs

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 tbsp chopped parsley


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbled.

3. Add the butter, then stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.

4. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly, until the gravy is smooth and thickened.

5. Season the gravy with black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.

6. Cut the biscuits into quarters and spread them evenly in the prepared baking dish.

7. Spoon the sausage gravy over the biscuit pieces.

8. Whisk the eggs in a bowl and pour them evenly over the casserole.

9. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.

10. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the center is set.

11. Let the casserole rest for 5 to 10 minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Do not pour the gravy into the dish while it is too thin, or the casserole can turn soggy in the center instead of baking up creamy and structured.
