This easy recipe is perfect for a quick breakfast, indulgent snack, or dessert. Whether you’re looking for comforting breakfast ideas, easy recipes for a cozy brunch, or delicious food ideas to impress guests, these fritters deliver big flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

2 cups apples, peeled and diced

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Vegetable oil, for frying

1/2 cup powdered sugar or glaze, optional

Instructions

1. Peel and dice apples into small cubes, pat dry with paper towels, and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

3. In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.

4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

5. Fold in diced apples until evenly distributed.

6. Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).

7. Carefully drop heaping spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, a few at a time.

8. Fry until golden brown on all sides, turning occasionally (3–4 minutes total).

9. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

10. While warm, drizzle with glaze or dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the pan when frying—work in small batches for even cooking.

Use a thermometer to maintain consistent oil temperature.

Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven at 300°F for 5–7 minutes.
