1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

5. Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples.
6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the apple filling is bubbling.
7. Let it cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.
8. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for the best flavor and texture.
Old-fashioned oats provide a better crunch than quick oats.
