They’re perfect as a quick breakfast treat, an easy dessert for dinner parties, or even as a sweet addition to your holiday snack table. With warm cinnamon, apple cider flavor, and fluffy texture, this easy recipe brings delicious seasonal food ideas straight to your kitchen.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

½ cup apple cider (reduced for stronger flavor, optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

½ cup caramel sauce

¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

1 teaspoon cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

2. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add apple cider and vanilla extract.

4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until combined.

5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

6. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Scoop dough into balls, roll in the mixture, place on the sheet, and slightly flatten.

7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until set and crackled on top. Let cool completely.

8. For filling, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla.

9. Pipe or spoon cream onto flat sides of half the cookies. Drizzle caramel on top.

10. Sandwich with remaining cookies and chill for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Reduce the apple cider by simmering it to intensify the flavor.

Don’t overbake the cookies; they should stay soft in the center.

Chill before serving so the filling sets properly and holds together.
