Ingredients
2 cups apples (peeled and chopped)
1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
0.5 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
0.5 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line or grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small chunks. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, stir together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
6. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
7. Fold in chopped apples and optional pecans, being careful not to overmix.
8. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.
9. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
10. Let cool in the pan, then slice into squares and serve.
Notes
Use tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best flavor and texture.
Don’t overmix the batter; fold gently to keep the brownies tender.
For extra indulgence, drizzle with maple glaze or serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
